100 millisecond level - the screen projection delay performance in the complex network environment of Chenhan exceeds that of Apple Carplay, reaching the industry-leading level

Recently, Xiaomi's SU7 has built-in Apple's CarPlay app, pushing CarPlay to young consumers. As the application king in the automotive cockpit field, Carplay has been a must-have for top car companies in human-computer interaction after more than 10 years of development and iteration by Apple.


The biggest advantage of Carplay is the built-in interaction interface between the phone and the car infotainment system in the iPhone. It can project the application software that supports Carplay function in the IOS system onto the car infotainment screen, fully utilizing the powerful computing power and application software ecosystem of the phone to achieve the same navigation, music, image, and voice interaction experience as the phone while driving. Of course, the biggest problem with Carplay is the inability to achieve video stream based transmission and operation.

As the first company in the electric motorcycle industry to launch commercial screen projection technology, Chenhan initially defined small motorcycle riding five years ago as providing an interactive experience similar to car play for electric motorcycles and light transportation products, such as human motorcycles (end screen cars). However, unlike the safe use of touch screens and voice interaction in automotive scenarios, the handling operation in cycling scenarios is extremely dangerous, and wind noise also has a fatal impact on speech recognition rate. Completely adopting a car cockpit like operation is extremely unfriendly to two wheels. Therefore, simply copying carplay to two rounds and relying on plagiarism is not feasible.


Considering the various restrictions on kernel calls in mainstream iOS and Android mobile systems, as well as the intellectual property traps of various third-party software, and the differentiated privacy protocols based on users in different regions around the world, Xiaomo Cycling has introduced mirror projection as the first step in human-vehicle interaction into the scene, and has taken the lead in implementing commercial split screen mirror operations on both iOS and Android dual systems. This creates a huge difference from CarPlay's inability to achieve video stream based transmission and operation. It can be said that Carplay has stagnated from voice communication in the 2G era to graphic communication in the 4G era, while small motorcycle riding was born based on video streaming in the 5G era.

The biggest problem with video transmission is the limitations of network environment and bandwidth, and there are also limitations of chips and systems behind it. If an enterprise does not have the ability to develop underlying technologies, cannot handle the network environment, channel bandwidth, CPU computing power, and operating system underlying scheduling well, it cannot achieve high-quality and reliable transmission and synchronization of videos, graphics, and music in complex network environments. Frequent issues such as crashes, restarts, mosaics, lagging, and delays lead to extremely poor user experience. The outdoor complex terrain of cycling scenes and the intergenerational differences in communication infrastructure in various regions around the world over a 20-year period make this technological difficulty even more complex.


Based on the continuous increase in demand from cycling customers worldwide and the exponential increase in complexity of application scenarios, Chenhan has been continuously optimizing and iterating the performance of its screen casting technology. One of the most important indicators is the delay performance in complex network environments. After nearly a year of optimization, AP mode, routing mode, direct connection mode, and channel full occupancy mode can achieve a measured video transmission delay of up to 100 milliseconds on more than 50 mainstream mobile phone models. The latest version of Xiaomo cycling and instrument software will incorporate these technologies, and I believe it will provide users with a more excellent visual experience.
